| 1 | Louis Sisco, 96, of DeKalb, Ill., died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, in his family home in DeKalb. Born April 12, 1913, in Chicago, he was the son of Pietro and Raffaela (Brutto) Sisco. Louis married Virginia V. Weisenhofer on March 2, 1935, at St. Mary of Celle Catholic Church in Berwyn. Louis worked for 25 years at McKesson-Robins Pharmacy Wholesale as their pharmaceutical salesman. He then went to work for the DeKalb Clinic for 15 years as their pharmacy apprentice. Louis lived in the DeKalb community since 1948, moving from Berwyn. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb. He enjoyed playing bingo, golf and hockey, and attending his morning coffee group at McDonald's, where he especially enjoyed his coffee and egg biscuit. Louis had played semi-pro baseball in Chicago. He enjoyed being with his family, and visiting his friends. Louis graduated from Morton High School in Cicero. Survivors include daughters, Ginger (Stoddard) Allen of DeKalb and Cheryl Zuiker of Bellwood, Pa.; sons, Lew (Susan) Sisco of Aurora and Larry Sisco of DeKalb; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; infant daughter, Judy Sisco; sisters, Rose Ella and Emily Covello; and brothers, Sam, Carmen and George. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church, DeKalb, with Father Kenneth Anderson officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, DeKalb. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, at Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home in DeKalb, with a Wake Service at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
